Return Leased Vehicle

Not interested in leasing or buying a new vehicle? No problem, just return the vehicle to the dealership.

If you are returning your vehicle, use the guide below to help you get ready.

Get Inspected
Schedule an inspection within 120 days of lease end for a report on wear and use. See below for photos of excessive and normal wear and use. You can schedule your pre-turn inspection at our dealership or at home or work by visiting AutoVINLive.com or calling 1-800-556-2811. Make sure your vehicle is clean inside and out for the inspection.

Lease-end fees may apply if there is damage exceeding normal wear and use. If your vehicle needs repairs completed before returning, we can help you schedule the repairs at our dealership. Be sure to keep the receipts for the repairs made.

Fill Out Statement
A Leased Vehicle Odometer Disclosure Notice and Statement needs to be filled out and signed by the lessee. This form discloses the mileage of the leased vehicle to the lessor and is required by federal law. This form is usually mailed to you, but can be found online as well.

Before Leaving Dealership
Before leaving your leased vehicle at the dealership, make sure you receive a copy of your turn-in receipt and confirm that the mileage and any other information recorded on it is correct.

Any mileage incurred in excess of the amount allowed in your original lease contract term will be billed at the rate per mile listed in your agreement.
You must continue to make your regular monthly payment during the month(s) extended.
The dealership where you leased the vehicle is best qualified to help you with the return process. If you have moved away from the dealership, you can return the vehicle at any participating dealership.

*This may be waived if you buy or lease another new vehicle or exercise the purchase option of your lease agreement.
A disposition fee is a fee that is charged by leasing companies to prepare a returned vehicle for resale.
